Metolius Stewardship Project Multi-Party Monitoring TeamCharter
Decision-MakingThe group chose to use modified consensus with a majority rule of 2/3 as their decision making process. The MPMT did not decide on a minimum number of objections before a decision could go forward. As a fallback process when modified consensus cannot be achieved for making decisions, they will use voting with obtaining 2/3 votes. The level of agreement with decisions will be recorded as well as documentation in writing and at the end of each meeting of all decisions that were made. MembershipThe membership will be open to anyone that may want to join, but a core group will exist that is allowed to vote on decisions. To join the core group, a member must attend three out of the four of the last meetings. New members can be recruited and membership should be examined annually to determine if a balanced representation of interest groups exists from the membership. A balanced representation includes geographic diversity and inclusions of the communities of interest, but key representation from key aspects of the community need always to be present. The charter for the group will be a living document and will be checked with regularly. LeadershipThe group elected Cal Mukumoto, consulting forester for Warm Springs Forest Products as Chair, and Gregory McClarren, Clean Air Committee, as Vice-Chair. Their initial term is through 2003. FS RoleForest Service membership will not be a majority. Members from the FS who will be on the team include: Bob Flores, serving as the District Ranger liaison at the Sisters Ranger District; Vickie Dunaway, Timber Sale Contracting Specialist; Dave Moyer, Service Contracting Specialist; and Cindy Glick, Monitoring Team Secretary/ Coordinator.
