The comment period on the Draft EIS closed on February 15th. The Record of Decision and the Final EIS were issued in July 2003. Alternative 3, with modifications, is the alternative selected for implementation. The legal notice was published in The Bulletin on July 16, 2003. The 45 day appeal period will ended on Sept 2, 2003. An appeal has been filed by the League of Wilderness Defenders - Blue Mountains Biodiversity Project. The appeal has been filed with the Region 6 Regional Forester in Portland, Oregon. It generally takes approximately 45 days for the a final decision to be made on an appeal.
