Draft SNFPA Management Review and Recommendations
This draft of the Sierra Nevada Forest Plan Amendment (SNFPA) Management Review & Recommendations is a working document being circulated for internal review. In the interest of making the SNFPA Review process open and public, the draft has been posted on this website -- the Forest Service is not soliciting public comment on this draft. This draft contains only Part 1 (findings) of the Sierra Nevada Forest Plan Review Team report. The team's full report (including Part 2, recommendations and Part 3, appendices) will be completed by early March 2003. At that time, the Regional Forester will make the full report available on this website for public viewing. After reviewing the report and carefully considering its recommendations, the Regional Forester will initiate action to implement the recommendations he deems appropriate for responsible stewardship and sustainable management of the Sierra Nevada national forests. The new information and analysis of any improvements being considered will be documented in a supplement to the January 2001 Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The Forest Service will solicit public comment on the draft Supplement. See the proposed timeline for the supplemental EIS process. Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat versions of this draft document are available below under "Alternate Formats."
