Recreation Residence Management
Following an extended public comment period, the final directives for recreation residence management in the Pacific Southwest Region have been issued in the form of a new regional handbook supplement.

Following the agency's national review of the recreation residence program in 1990 and 1991, the Pacific Southwest Region took action to improve regional guidelines for this program.
This document is the new Regional Supplement to the Forest Service Special Uses Handbook. The supplemental handbook direction on recreation residences is written for Forest Service managers and permit administrators to provide clear direction, leading to improved consistency in managing the recreation program. The supplement was signed by the Regional Forester and became effective September 7, 2000. The supplement is 16 pages.
