*Note: Edits to this layer will continue in order to correct discrepancies within Forest Service lands and other agency's land. The SOURCE field in this layer allows tracking of these changes, but this causes some wilderness to be unnecessarily split. A dissolve may be performed on WILDERNESSNAME to simplify the layer.

WildernessExistingR5_06_2
February, 2007 (cclark, GD)
1) Updated linework for Chumash, Garcia, Dick Smith, Machesna Mtn and Matilijia wildernesses on the Los Padres NF incorporated into layer. Data created by Mark Reichart, approved by Howard Whitman.
2) 40 acres on west side of Granite Chief wilderness added back to layer per Howard Whitman based on linework from original Forest wilderness boundary layer.
3) Per the Forest Service Land Status Program Manager, BJ Jones, polygons were recreated in this layer for "holes" or inholdings that had been erroneously removed. This does not include "cherry stemmed" areas, in which a road connects a parcel of private land to the edge of wilderness. These areas remain as exclusions to the wilderness acres.
4) Dataset modified from Region 5 ALP data, to reflect correct boundaries per Lassen National Forest records. Specifically, Section 36 and the SE 1/4 Section 25, T27NR02E, are privately owned by Collins Pine. These should not be part of the Ishi Wilderness.
