Quincy Library Group

This is a polygon layer of Group Selection (GRPS) within the Quincy Library Group (QLG) area.

GRPS, is defined as the QLG Lands with a QLG-STATUS equal to "Group Selection". The LSC values assigned to Group Select lands is 620.

Group Selection and Individual Tree Selection. Harvest of small groups of trees (generally 1 to 2 acres each) and individual trees, to achieve an all-age, multi-story, fire resilient forest.

Group Selection on 0.57 percent of the Project area land each year. These small openings make possible new growth of pines, which are otherwise shaded out by today's unnatural growth of white fir and incense cedar on much land that originally grew mostly pines.

Purpose:

For analysis purposes, only the areas that are within National Forest boundaries apply.
