Abstract:

This polygon layer consists of California Spotted Owl Habitat Areas within the Herger-Feinstein Quincy Library Group (QLG) pilot project area.

Purpose:

This data was developed by the USDA Forest Service for use in the Sierra Nevada Forest Plan Amendment Environmental Impact Statement. Procedures_Used

QLG_CaSpottedOwlHabitatAreas93_2 (ctrillo, FS) March 2007 - Found errors in the projection of the original coverages. Reprojected layer to Nad83.

QLG_CaSpottedOwlHabitatAreas93_1 (cclark, GD) July 2006 - Appended the coverages listed below, projected to Albers NAD 83 and clipped to QLG boundary. It was discovered that coding for Land Suitability Class and Timber Regulation Level were incorrect. All polygons changed to LSC = Sensitive wildlife species, Land Not Appropriate For Timber Production and REG = Unsuitable forest land, no scheduled timber yields.
