Upon receipt of county data, parcels were selected out of each layer to be used in final layer that were NOT federally or state owned. If federal and state parcels were found in county layer that did not exist in official federal or state layers, these were also retained for final layer. If, based on imagery overlay, public parcels were noted to be roads or other transportation, they were removed from selection. Specific codes for selection per county: Trinity - "TC" (for Trinity County public lands) Shasta County - "Public Facilities" and "Open Space" Tehama - "NR" (Natural Resource Lands &amp; Rec Dist) Napa - "Vacant Land Non-Taxable" (further refined by CAPD) Mendocino - "Vacant" and "Public Facility" Mendocino - "United States of America" parcels that fall within BIA Reservation boundaries coded as Native American Lands Humboldt - "Open Space/Parks" (those that are not federally or state owned) 2. After county layers were trimmed down, the following fields were added to each agency's dataset and polygons were calculated based upon information in originating attribute table and metadata: - Owner_class (most generalized field - i.e. federal, state, city, etc) - Admin (owner or managing entity - some cities names determined using Census layer "city90") - Unitname (if unknown, coded "Other City Lands" or "Other State Lands", etc) - Source (code for name of source dataset) - Source_Year (year that source data corresponds to on-the-ground) 3. Data was then compared between agencies to locate and resolve larger areas of overlap using NAIP imagery if possible. 4. Datasets were then assembled using the Update command. In an Update, the first input layer's features that overlap the second input's features are erased. This removed all smaller remaining areas of overlap. The data were stacked in the following heirarchy. No adjustment was made for gaps between the data.
