This provincial monitoring effort provides monitoring data for regional assessment across all ownerships and forested vegetation types.</PRE> <SCRIPT>fix(original)</SCRIPT> </DIV> <DIV> <DT><I>Supplemental_Information:</I></DT> <PRE ID="original">PROCEDURES: USGS Anderson 2 development for the NWFP was separated into private and National Forest lands. Existing Vegetation (Eveg 2003/2004) for the National Forest land portion of the project area was compiled and a USGS_ANDERSON_2 field was added. Codes were calculated based on a crosswalk from a concatenation of REGIONAL_DOMINANCE_TYPE_1 and COVERTYPE. (see the crosswalk below). Major highways, railroads and powerlines (NWFP_MajorHwy_RailMisc08_1) were buffered and integrated, using a GIS overlay routine, into the crosswalked dataset. Non-national Forest lands were identified and new segments were generated from 2007 Thematic Mapper (TM) imagery pansharpened with normalized 2007 5-meter panchromatic Spot imagery. Using 1998 legacy EVEG data as a base layer for coding Anderson 2, the water, urban and agricultural areas were refined using multiple data sources including 1998 to 2003 change detection, Farmland Mapping &amp; Monitoring Program (FMMP), Multi-Resolution Land Consortium (MRLC), Census 2000, utility/transportation data (NWFP_MajorHwy_RailMisc08_1), county specific data and National Hydrography Dataset (NHD). Refinement of generalized urban development codes (10) was conducted by editing the features over recent imagery, including 2005 true-color NAIP and 2007 pansharpened TM imagery. Additional ancillary data used included DevelopedRecreation06_2 (campgrounds and other recreation) and SpecialUseAdminSites01_1 (Forest Service administrative sites). Refinement of generalized water codes (50) was done using the WaterBodies07_2 layer and the aforementioned imagery sources. Lastly, Anderson 2 updates from the 2003 - 2007 NWFP ChangeDetection datasets were overlayed to account for more land use changes within the project boundary. Finalized data was assembled by NWFP Physiognomic Provinces.
