PLUMAS: PNFPLUN91_1 Nov. 13, 1998 Stephen N. Hayes, Pacific Meridian Resourses USFS R5 Remote Sensing Lab, Sacramento, CA This layer was created from several sources after discovering that the original planning unit boundary layer was missing from the library. The outside border was taken from the ranger districts and compartments layer, PNFRDCM97_1. The boundary between planning units 1 and 2 was derived from the boundary between Oroville and Quincy ranger districts, also taken from PNFRDCM91_1. The boundary between planning units 2 and 3 was derived by first dissolving the 1991 EVEG layer (PNFEVEG91_7) on PLANUNIT and then extracting arcs from this dissolved coverage. Where linework was missing or unsuitable along this boundary, arcs were borrowed from the roads (PNFTRAN86_1) and streams (PNFSTRM86_1) layers when appropriate based on the original boundary which was hand-drawn on a Forest Service visitor's map.
