Official 30 day public comment period begins on the draft environmental assessment regarding the proposal to open about 14.5 miles of road for public motorized vehicle use into Commander Tract lands in the upper Cold Creek watershed. The area is located in Glenn County, California, about 16 miles west of the community of Elk Creek. The proposal also includes decommissioning of about 10.1 miles of closed roads and about 11.0 miles of user-created routes.
