FINDS MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH NW FOREST PLAN IN CALIFORNIA
A recently-completed report prepared for USDA's Forest Service (FS) concludes
that the 1994 Northwest Forest Plan (NWFP) has failed to fulfill its economic
promise to the people and communities of northern California.

During the week of June 23rd, 2003, Pacific Southwest Regional Forester
Jack Blackwell and forest supervisors of six national forests in northern
California are reviewing 10 years of performance under the Northwest Forest
Plan (NWFP).
