Emerson Campground

This campground is the perfect place for an afternoon of fishing with your family or the perfect place for getting away from everyday stresses. You can see the fish jumping out of the clear, blue water.

Getting There: 1 hour from Alturas via Highway 299 to Cedarville. Turn right on Main St. (Co. Road #1) and follow to one mile south of Eagleville. Follow FS signs to Emerson Campground on a high clearance dirt road.

Elevation: 6,000 feet above sea level

Season: Generally July - October

Facilities:

• 4 RV and tent units /up to 16 feet
• Picnic table and fire pit at each campsite
• Vault toilets
• Stay Limit: Can stay up to 14 days
• Potable Water: NO potable water
• Road Conditions: Poor road conditions

Fishing:  Great fishing at the nearest lake which is a 3.5 mile hike away at Emerson Lake.

 

Swimming:  Swimming is allowed at Emerson Lake.

Hiking: Trail Head for the North and South Emerson Trails to the South Warner Wilderness is located here.

Services: The nearest food, gasoline, and restaurant are located in the town of Eagelville and Cedarville, California. The nearest 24 hour services are located in Alturas, CA.
