| Season of Use | Generally open May through first week of October. This campground is at a higher elevation and opening and closing dates are dependant on the weather. |
| Services | Contact the campground host in case of emergency. Medical, dental, and optical services are available in South Lake Tahoe. Barton Memorial Hospital offers 24-hour emergency care and is fully staffed. Groceries, fuel, laundry and other services are available in South Lake Tahoe. |
| Special Attractions | The Bayview Campground also serves as a Trailhead for Desolation Wilderness. A Wilderness Permit is required to enter Desolation Wilderness. Day hikers may pick up a day-use permit at the self serve area at the Trailhead. Overnight hikers must obtain an overnight permit before you arrive at the Trailhead. Follow this link for additional information on obtaining a permit for Desolation Wilderness. Corral and watering facilities for horses are available at the Trailhead. Water for the watering facilities is taken from the creek which usually runs dry by the latter part of July, August and September. You should make arrangements to provide your own water during these months. |
