![[Graphic]: Map indicating the boundaries of the Carson Pass Management Area in the Mokelumne Wilderness.](/r5/eldorado/local-resources/images/0503cpma_c121c.gif)
The topographic map above indicates the location of the Carson Pass Management Area (CPMA). The areas outside of the CPMA are green or grey to emphasize the CPMA. CPMA includes everything east of the Emigrant Lake Trail as it drops south from Caples Lake for the first mile. The border wraps around toward Melissa Coray Peak and drops south. Approximately one mile southwest of Fourth of July Lake it then parallels Summit City Creek from a quarter mile distance for approximately one mile. The boundary then turns north toward The Sisters. From this peak it follows the ridgeline east past Round Top Peak to the Amador Ranger District boundary. The CPMA boundary then continues north toward the Carson Pass Trailhead. Frog Lake is within the boundary.
