Current Conditions - Roads
Accessiblity of the various roads and trails on the forest depends on the time of year and the weather. Some road conditions can be predicted, others can not. Unpredictable events of nature can produce road hazards which may not be cleared upon your arrival. Be flexible and enjoy the journey!
Important Notice: Roads and trails on the Eldorado are designated for wheeled motor vehicle travel. Vehicle travel off these designated roads and trails is prohibited. Maps and information is available on the Vehicle Travel Web page and hard copies of the maps can be obtained at one of our forest offices.
NOTE: The Eldorado National Forest is implementing the new designated route system which includes a seasonal closure of dirt roads and trails from January 1 through March 31. Seasonal closures may be longer if roads or trails are wet and susceptible to damage.
Tip: "Closed by snow" means that the road/trail does not have a gate and access is controlled by Mother Nature.
