Application Changes for Float Season 2010
The Four Rivers Lottery System will be changing the way the reservations, cancellations and Recreation Fees are handled in 2010
Reservations, cancellations and recreation fee payments will be processed through the National Recreation Reservation System (NRRS) website at www.Recreation.gov for all river launches.
The switch to the NRRS begins on December 1, 2009. The transition will require all river users to have an email address and access to a computer. The Lottery will runs from December 1 to January 31 as it has in the past for control seasons occurring between May and September; specific dates vary from river to river.
The application fee for the 2010 will remain at $6.00. Another change is that an applicant may apply for each of the individual rivers Selway, Snake, Middle Fork and Wild section of the main Salmon with 4 launch date choices for each river if desired. Each river will require a separate application fee of $6.00.
In addition to moving the permit lottery to an entirely online process, the four rivers will use this new system to allocate reservations, including reassigning cancellations. The Middle Fork and wild section of the main Salmon Rivers will also use this online system to assign pre-or post-season reservations which occur outside of the control season. This system will process the payment of recreation fees for the Middle Fork and the main Salmon Rivers.
The Middle Fork normally takes the pre-post season applications on Oct. 1st, that will be delayed until Dec. 1st, 2009 until the program is ready.
As we get closer to the implementation date further information will follow. River applicants can go to www.recreation.gov and create a profile at any time and become familiar with the site.
