Camping on the McCall Ranger DistrictPlease contact the McCall Ranger District at (208) 634-0400 for the most current information on recreation for the east zone.
Burgdorf CampgroundTravel thirty-one miles north of McCall on Warren Wagon Road, two miles east on Forest Road #246. There are five sites, drinking water, handicapped accessible toilet, pack in/pack out. There will be hosts at this campground. Jeanette Creek CampgroundThirty-one miles north of McCall on Warren Wagon Road, three miles east on Forest Road #246 takes you to the campground with 6 sites, toilets, tables, fire rings, there is trail access, pack in/pack out, no drinking water. Chinook CampgroundThirty-nine miles northeast of McCall on Warren Wagon Road. Day and overnight use. Nine campsites with tables, fire rings/grills, toilets, pack in/pack out, no drinking water. Horse trailer parking, unloading ramp and hitching rails. Access to Loon Lake trailhead, fee for camping but no trailhead fee. There will be hosts for Chinook at the Burgdorf Administrative site. Kennally Creek CampgroundTravel 10 miles south of McCall on Hwy 55 then 19 miles east on Paddy Flat Road (#388). There are eleven units/nine trailer units with drinking water from one centrally located hand pump, tables, fire pits, charcoal grills, handicapped accessible toilet, hitching rails and unloading ramp, pack in/pack out. Good trail access with no trailhead fee. There is a host at Paddy Flat Guard Station. Lake Fork CampgroundNine miles east of McCall on Lick Creek Road (#48). There are nine campground/trailer units with tables, fire pits, charcoal grills, toilets, drinking water from two centrally located spigots, day and overnight use, trail access, pack in/pack out. Upper Payette Lake CampgroundTravel sixteen miles north of McCall on Warren Wagon Road go left to Forest Road #495. There are nineteen campground units. Six of them are double units. All have tables, fire rings, handicapped accessible toilets, drinking water through two centrally located hand pumps and hosts, pack in/pack out. The campground also has a group area with 5 sites. There is a day use area with small boat-launching ramp for no wake fishing and a handicapped accessible lakeshore trail. In addition to the first come, first served sites, sites at Upper Payette Lake are available for reservation through www.recreation.gov or by calling (877) 444-6777. |
