White River Campground

Located at the base of Currant Mountain near the Currant Mountain Wilderness in the White Pine Mountain Range, White River Campground straddles the White River. Many recreation opportunities exist in the area including: hiking, backpacking, ATV/OHV use, birding, sightseeing, historical buildings, and hunting.

Places to Visit
  • Currant Mountain Wilderness is a pristine area with seven miles of hiking trail. There are no trailheads and the trails usually are not maintained.
  • The White Pine Mining District is near with many ghost towns.
Directions
  1. From Ely take Highway 6 south towards Tonopah.

  2. Drive 26 miles on Highway 6 and turn left on FS Road 1163.

  3. Travel down FS Road 1163 8 miles until you reach the campground.
