  • Gooseberry is in a remote location and there are no telephone or emergency services, except in Salina and Richfield. We recommend taking extra food, extra clothing, and a first aid kit.
  • Wildlife viewing is fun and exciting. Please remember to enjoy the animals from a distance. The forest is their home, and we are their guests.
  • Ground squirrels and other rodents are cute, but can be diseased, so do not feed them or initiate contact with them.
  • Stinging plants and insects are in the area. Bring insect repellent and be aware that insects are attracted to perfumes. Stinging nettle is found in some areas.
  • This campground is at a higher elevation. Be sure to bring warm clothing as evenings can be cool even in midsummer.
  • ATVs are allowed only to access the adjacent trail system.
  • Quiet time is between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
