Camping on the Beaver Ranger District

The regular camping season on the Beaver Ranger District is from Memorial Day to Labor Day Weekends. Some campgrounds are open for public use before and after the regular season. Through the summer months water systems are operational and garbage collection is available. Snow pack may inhibit vehicle accessibility to higher elevation campgrounds. Contact the Beaver Ranger District office for snow and road conditions at (435) 438-2436 or click the recreational report.

Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations can be made for Castle Rock, Tushar Lakeside, Mahogany and Ponderosa Picnic Area. All campgrounds limit campers to a 14-day stay in one campground. Reservations can be made on-line or by telephone: 1-877-444-6777.

When the 14 day limit is reached, the camper is required to move to a different campground. Electrical and sewage connections are not provided and wastewater is not permitted to drain on the ground. Local communities have dumping facilities. Garbage bins are located at the mouth of Beaver Canyon on the east side of State Road #153 next to the lower Beaver River Power Station.
