Yankee Meadows Campground

This campground is available on a first-come first-served basis and does not require reservations.

ELEVATION:

8,500 feet

 

LOCATION:

34 miles from Cedar City: Take I-15 northbound. Drive 19 miles to Parowan, take Exit 78 into Parowan, then take Highway U-143 south our of Parowan and drive 3 miles, then turn left on First Left Hand Road and drive 6 miles to the campground.

FACILITIES:

  • 27 single units
  • 2 double units with pull-through drive ways
  • Culinary water from a deep well and then piped to the campground
  • Water hydrants provide piped spring water (drinkable)
  • RV Length - 24 feet in single units, and 35 feet in double units.
  • No Hookups or dumping station are available
  • Fire ring, grill and table at each unit
  • 2 vault restrooms
  • Central garbage bins

ATTRACTIONS:

  • Campground is one mile from Yankee Meadow Reservoir
  • The reservoir provides good fishing with a dock for small fishing boats and a vault restroom
  • Hiking and biking opportunities are available

OPERATING SEASON:

The primary camping season runs from May 21, 2009 to September 20, 2009 (weather permitting). The campground may be used outside of the camping season dates without water, facilities, or services. Dispersed camping in the area is permitted any time. Dispersed sites have been designated and are marked with signs. Trash must be packed out of the dispersed camping area.

FEES:

 

ATV POLICY:

ATV's will be allowed to park adjacent to the camp host site and ingress/egress to that point. ATV's will not be allowed beyond the camp host site into the campground (driven or pushed) unless on a trailer. ATV's may be trailered in and out of the campground.

Off Highway Vehicles allowed ONLY on designated trails/roads. If ATVing is a planned activity, you must purchase the Markagunt ATV System map of available trails by calling 435-865-3200 or visiting the Cedar City Ranger District in Cedar City, Utah.
