Panguitch Lake South Campground

Panguitch Lake South Campground Entrance
Panguitch Lake South Campground offers visitors a slower pace and cool temperatures. Enjoy boating, lake fishing, fly fishing, mountain biking and hiking at Panguitch Lake. The lake is 1/2 mile from the Single Camp Site Number 11campground. Commercial boat rental and launching facilities are available, as as well as lodging, groceries, and gasoline. Winter activities include ice fishing and snowmobiling. The campground is closed during winter months.

ELEVATION:

8,400 feet

LOCATION:

16 miles southwest of Panguitch, Utah on Highway 143, or 50 miles northeast of Cedar City, Utah

FACILITIES:

  • Camping - 17auto/ tent units. Trailers are not recommended.
  • Culinary water from a deep well then piped to the campground
  • Fire ring and table at each unit
  • Firewood for sale by campground concessionaire
  • 2 flush toilets
  • Central garbage bins
  • Trailer dump station- 1/2 mile from campground

ATTRACTIONS:

  • Panguitch Lake is one-half mile from the campground. It has excellent fishing and boating opportunities.
  • Commercial boat rental and launching facilities around the lake
  • Public boat ramp and parking at South Shore and Wildlife Point
  • Lodging, groceries, gasoline and other commecial facilities around the lake
  • Excellent hiking and biking opportunities
  • Winter activities include ice fishing and snowmobiling

The primary camping season runs from May 14, 2009 through September 20, 2009 with water available (weather permitting)

ATV POLICY:

This campground will be entirely closed to ATV's. No ATV's will be allowed to operate, unload or be trailered into the campground..
