Navajo Lake Campground

Navajo Lake Campground, located on the shores of Navajo Lake, provides a spectacular setting for boating, camping, fishing, hiking, and photography. Commercial boat rental and launching are available, as are lodging and groceries at nearby Navajo Lake Lodge. The Virgin River Rim Trail is accessible from the campground; it offers panoramic views of Zion National Park, the Kolob Plateau, and the Pine Valley Mountains.

ELEVATION:

9,200 feet

LOCATION:

25 miles east of Cedar City on Highway U-14, take the Navajo Lake Road south and west approximately 2.5 miles

FACILITIES:

• Camping - 16 single units, 7 walk-in tent units, 4 double units
• Culinary water from a developed spring
• Fire ring and table at each unit
• Firewood available for sale by concessionaire
• 3 flush toilets
• Central garbage bins at nearby Te-Ah Campground
• Handicap accessible
• Accommodates RV's up to 24 feet in length
• Asphalt roads and parking spurs
• Public boat ramp (parking fee charged)
• Trailer dump station located 2 miles west of campground

 

ATTRACTIONS:

• Campground is located on the shore of Navajo Lake with excellent fishing and boating opportunities
• Excellent hiking and biking, the trail from the campground connects into the Virgin River Rim Trail
• Lodging and groceries are available at the Navajo Lake Lodge - 1 miles from the campground

OPERATING SEASON:

The primary camping season runs from May 14, 2009 through September 20, 2009 with water available
(weather permitting)

 

NOTE:

Due to the Spruce Beetle epidemic, the campground has been groomed of all dead and infected spruce trees, thusly, shade is sparse.

ATV POLICY:

This campground is to operating or unloading of ATV's. The entire Navajo Lake basin is closed to any and all ATV use. ATV's may be hauled into and out of the campgrounds on a trailer but not unloaded or ridden anywhere within the Navajo Lake basin.

RESERVATIONS:

No reservations are accepted at this campground
