King Creek Campground

Entrance to King Creek Campground
The King Creek Campground is situated in a ponderosa pine, adjacent to Tropic Reservoir and the East Fork of the Sevier River. It is about 7 miles south of Utah State Highway 12, and west of Bryce Canyon National Park. Access is provided by an improved gravel road. Recent improvements include a new water system, new flush restrooms, new fire rings and grills, new gravelled spurs, and paved sidewalks at some sites to provide improved access for people with disabilities. ATVs are being allowed on a trial basis on roads and spurs. However, users are reminded to drive slowly, stay on roads and respect the rights of other campers and forest users. There are many recreational opportunities near this campground including hiking, ATV riding, sightseeing, fishing, wildlife viewing, and boating. Tropic Reservoir is open year-round but access is limited during the winter months. There aren't any locked gates which block access to the reservoir, but the snow can become waist high during the winter months.

It is located adjacent to the Kings Creek Campground which is usually open with water from May through September. As the temperatures drop in the fall, the water will be turned off but dry camping is available.
