Equestrian Campground

The Equestrian Campground is located about 3/4 mile from Pine Valley Reservoir, in a ponderosa pine, pinion and juniper setting. It offers great views of Pine Valley Mountains. Recreation opportunities include horseback riding, hiking, fishing, sight-seeing, and wildlife viewing. ATVs cannot be ridden within the campground. Ask the concessionaire or the Interagency Office for maps showing ATV opportunities. There are showers and a cafe in the town of Pine Valley.

FACILITIES:

-14 single campsites
-4 campsites for tents
-1 large four way corral
-Picnic tables, fire pits, and grills
-Drinking water
-1 flush toilet, 2 vault unit toilets

OPERATING SEASON:

The primary camping season is from May 1 through September 30, 2008 (weather permitting).

FEE:

$8.00 for tent sites
$10.00 for sites without horse stalls
$12.00 for sites with horse stalls
Extra vehicles are charged $6.00 per night

RESERVATIONS:

Campsites 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, 12, and 13 can be reserved online or by calling 1-877-444-6777.

-Good turnaround for large RVs
-Pine Valley Reservoir (no powerboats)
-Dump station located 5 miles southwest on highway 18
-Forsythe Canyon and Whipple Trailhead, located near Campsite 11
-Wilderness access
-Timbered setting
