Fire is located 2 miles south of the Continental Divide and 12 1/2 miles southwest of Henry's Lake

Fire is two miles south of the Continental Divide and 12.5 miles southwest of Henrys Lake. To protect human life and provide for public safety associated with this fire area. The Continental Divide Trail is open.

This fire is being managed for resource benefit and ecosystem enhancement by reducing risk of large fires, regenerating Whitebark Pine and Aspen and restoring habitat for wildlife species such as elk, bear and deer. Firefighters are working full-time on the Willow WFU event, maintaining top priorities of public and firefighter safety, keeping the fire west of Willow Creek and Willow Creek Road and managing the event as a natural disturbance mechanism in a fire-dependant ecosystem
