Fire is located 15 miles south and west of Swan Valley and 3 miles north and west of Little Elk Mountain.

This fire is being managed as a Wildland Fire Use fire.

Eight firefighters and aerial reconnaissance are managing this incident. 

Smoke is visible from Grey’s Lake, Bone, Swan Valley, Teton Valley, Afton and Alpine, WY.

The burn is consuming 30-40 % of vegetation leaving a random mosaic of burned and unburned areas.       

Idaho Department of Fish and Game support this wildland fire use event for the benefits it will provide to wildlife  and their habitat.

Objectives of the WFU fire are being met.  Wildland fire is an essential natural process and is vital for the survival of many plants and animals.

A fire area closure is in effect. Please see the map and order below for more information along with trail closures.
