Expanded Bear Food Storage Order
Caribou-Targhee National Forest managers have expanded the existing
food storage order. The expanded order is intended to reduce adverse
human-grizzly bear interactions, thereby promoting human safety and
the protection of bears and other wildlife species at locations in
the Targhee National Forest.
Due
to an unusually wet spring we ask that you use caution to care for
the land and not cause resource damage.
WEED AWARENESS
The Dubois Ranger
District has an active weed management program, attempting to prevent and
treat noxious weed invasions. Those recreating on the Dubois District
can do their part in the battle against weeds by using the public undercarriage
wash station located in Dubois, ID just behind the City Annex Building
on Main Street. The wash station is meant to remove weed seed that may
be caught on your full size or all terrain vehicles. Everyone is encouraged
to use the wash station prior to recreating on Forest lands.
NOTICE TO STOCKMEN
As part of the weed prevention
program any hay that is brought onto the Dubois Ranger District must
be Certified Weed Free.* Weed Free Hay
is available for purchase ($7 per bale) or trade (bale for bale) at the
Dubois City Annex Building on Main Street in Dubois, Idaho.
For questions or comments, please contact the Dubois District office
