INFORMATION ON AMPHIBIANS

FROGWATCH USA.  (http://www.mp2-pwrc.usgs.gov/frogwatch)  This site has excellent information on the identification including color photographs of the different amphibian species.  Range maps are included for most of the species and has range maps for most of the species found in the Western U.S.  This site is sponsored by the USGS, Patuxent wildlife Research Center.
 

UTAH DIVISION OF WILDLIFE RESOURCE. (http://www.nr.state.ut.us/dwr/sensppl.hmt) This site provides a list of the extinct and sensitive amphibian species in the state.  It also contains definitions of the reasons the different species are on the state list.
 

IDAHO STATE UNIVERSITY. (http://www.isu.edu/~petechar)  This site contains a checklist of Idaho amphibians, a status sheet, identification cards, range maps, and other worthwhile information.  You can also complete a course in "Ecology and Conservation of Idaho Amphibians and Reptiles" via the internet.
 

WYOMING NATURAL DIVERSITY DATABASE. (http://www.uwyo.edu/wyndd/).  This data base, is a research and service unit of the University of Wyoming and provides information on the biology, location and status of rare plant and animal species (including amphibians) in the state.
