WORK CAPACITY TEST & HEALTH SCREENING QUESTIONNAIRE

Before training for or taking the Work Capacity Test (WCT), you must fill out a Health Screening Questionnaire (HSQ). Those taking any of the Work Capacity Tests shall only take the test necessary for their red-carded position as described in the Wildland and Prescribed Fire Qualification System Guide (NWCG Publication PMS 310-1) and must be made available for fire assignment. « More information »

Work capacity test implementation guide 2008

Beginning in 2008, the Work Capacity Test process will change slightly as addressed in the WCT Implementation Guide 2008. The most important changes include the use of a single OPM-approved Health Screening Questionnaire (HSQ) to be used for all employees and that all HSQs will be reviewed at the unit level.

The Health Screening Questionnaire (HSQ) will be reviewed at the unit level and the determination for clearance made by the unit HSQ Coordinator. For those individuals needing further medical examination, the SF-78 will be used and reviewed through the Forest Service's Albuquerque Service Center-Human Capital Management (ASC-HCM) office per the WCT Implementation Guide 2008.
