Since
it began in 2001, the CFRP has awarded 116 grants to 82 organizations
that are currently working in 17 counties in New Mexico. A
third of those have gone to tribes. Over 300 diverse stakeholders
are involved in implementing the projects. CFRP projects
have created over 300 permanent, seasonal and part time forest
related jobs in New Mexico.

In 2005, the Forest Service convened a National Collaborative
Assessment Team to conduct a multiparty assessment of the Collaborative
Forest Restoration Program (CFRP). The team examined the development
and implementation of the CFRP using an innovative approach
from three different perspectives: implementation; effectiveness;
and validity.
