Trail 24 Pecos Trail-Part 1
Beatty's Flats to Gascon Trail 239

Description:

This trail begins by crossing the bridge over the Rito del Padre at the north end of Beatty's Flats and then goes through a gate. It climbs steeply to the top of a bench above the Pecos River and then maintains a moderate grade, travelling through open grassy meadows, aspen groves and mixed conifer. The trail then turns sharply to the east, coinciding with Gascon Trail 239 for a half mile. After crossing Jarosa Creek, the Pecos Trail turns north toward the Santa Barbara Divide. The Gascon Trail continues east toward Pecos Falls.

Notes:

This trail is in the Pecos Wilderness. Motorized equipment and mechanized transportation, including mountain bikes, hunter carts, and chainsaws are prohibited.

Camping and campfires are prohibited.

Be sure to close all gates.
