Due to private ownership of the southern portion, the trail is usually accessed from Hollinger Trail 219. The section of Blue Bell Trail to the south of Hollinger Creek leads to the private land. North of Hollinger Creek, the trail climbs steeply to Blue Bell Ridge. The trail levels out at the top of the ridge for a short distance before meeting Trail 10 which drops down to Beaver Creek. Blue Bell Ridge trail continues along the top of the ridge to the west. The trail is lightly used and can be difficult to follow. Near the end of Blue Bell Ridge the trail will turn north and intersect with Porvenir Canyon Trail 247 coming up from Beaver Creek. Going up Porvenir Canyon Trail takes one to the Skyline Trail 251. Going down eventually brings one back to El Porvenir Trailhead.

Notes:

This trail is in the Pecos Wilderness. Motorized equipment and mechanized transportation, including mountain bikes, hunter carts, and chainsaws are prohibited.

Portions of the trail are on private land. Landowner permission must be obtained to pass through these areas.
