Cowles Campground and Trailhead

Location: 20 miles north of Pecos on Highway 63
Uses: Camping, fishing, trailhead access
Fees: $6.00 per night; $6.00 picnic area; free trailhead parking
Facilities:

9 units, 6 units for tent camping only

Vaulted toilet

Trash bins

9 tables and grills

2 three-sided shelters

1 hand water pump

 

Notes :

Fishing nearby in Winsor Creek, Cowles Ponds, and Pecos River for Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout.

Pickups, trailers, and horses allowed at Cowles Trailhead.
