Forest Road 93 Upper Rio Puerco Road

Difficulty: Difficult
Seasons: Summer through early Fall
Trail Access: From Highway 96 take Forest Road 103 for nine miles then take Forest Road 93 for 5 miles to the end of the gravel. Mountain bike routes start here for the next 4.5 miles until the road junctions off with Forest Road 103 again.

Description:

This route starts at the end of the gravel on Forest Road 93. It is a native dirt road that can be hazardous when wet. The road travels through heavy spruce and fir timber stands with some aspen groves in some areas.

Beautiful views of the Cerro Pedernal and Cerro Valdez are along the way. Teakettle Rock is located on Forest Road 103 one mile from the end of Forest Road 93 where it junctions back with Forest Road 103.
