* The Espaņola Ranger District in cooperation with the New Mexico Wildife Federation and the Bureau of Land Management Taos Field Office has released the Proposed Action and preliminary analysis for the Rio Grande Corridor at Buckman Restoration and Recreation Enhancement Project. A thirty day period for public comment began November 11, 2011 when a legal announcement was published in the the Albuquerque Journal. Visit the projects and plans page for more information. * The Espanola Ranger District has released the proposed action for the Santa Fe Municipal Watershed Pecos Wilderness Prescribed Burn project. A public meeting will be held Tuesday September 20th, 20011in the 2nd floor community room of the downtown Santa Fe Public Library. More information on the proposed action »

* The large Cowles Pond in upper Pecos Canyon will be closed to the public beginning Wednesday, September 7 in efforts to improve fish habitat and increase angling success.

* The Espaņola Ranger District, Santa Fe National Forest reminds hunters in Unit 6c that the Forest south of Abiquiu Grant to the Santa Clara Pueblo Reservation will remain closed during hunting season. The Polvadera Peak area, a popular spot for hunting, is included in this closure.
