Located in the ponderosa pine type at an elevation of 5,700 feet along Highway 89, this campground is within an easy drive from the city of Prescott. The camp sites are generally large enough to accommodate most recreational vehicles (not exceeding 40 feet in length). This campground does not have any Recreational Vehicle hookups, dump stations or shower facilities. The paved road system to and throughout the campground makes for easy access to each camping site. There is a campground host to assist visitors.

Available: May 1 through October 31 (11 Sites Remain Open Year Round)

Stay limit: 14 Days

Fees:

  • Campground: $14 per site per night and $5 per extra vehicle
    (Expanded Amenity Fee - 50% discount for Interagency Senior or Access Pass holders)

Reservations: All of the sites within the campground are available on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations are required.

Access: From Prescott, turn south onto Montezuma Street from Gurley Street. Stay on Montezuma Street (which turns into U.S. Highway 89) for 3 miles to Forest Road 62. Turn left onto Forest Road 62, the campground entrance is just off the highway on your left.

Travel time: 10 minutes from Prescott

Road condition: Paved to and throughout the campground.

Special attractions:

General Information:

  • Each camp site usually accommodates one vehicle towing a camp trailer plus one additional vehicle (there is a charge for additional vehicle). Vehicles must be parked in space provided on site - not along side the road. Depending on the site, trailers between 22 feet to 40 feet in length can be accommodated.
  • Sites are designed for 5 people; a maximum of 10 is allowed only to accommodate a single large family.
  • Quiet hours must be observed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Open fires must be confined within fireplaces, grills or fire rings provided within developed recreation areas.
  • The gathering of dead wood is allowed for campground use only.
