Back-to-School Fee Waiver Weekend - August 14-15

PRESCOTT, AZ, August 9, 2010 - Prescott National Forest will waive the $5.00 fee at all day-use facilities on Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15 in celebration of Back-to-School.

Back-to-School weekend encourages families and friend to visit our National Forests and get outdoors. Recreational opportunities vary from enjoying picnic areas and other day-use sites to promoting active lifestyles by hiking, bird-watching, or mountain biking on your national forest.

All fees will be waived at Lynx Lake, Granite Basin, Thumb Butte, Mingus Lake and Alto Pit day use areas. Hayfield Draw is currently closed for improvements. The waiver does not apply to overnight campgrounds, group use fees or fees charged by concession-operated facilities. As a reminder to the public every Wednesday is a "fee-free" day at all Prescott National Forest day-use recreation areas.
