Recovery Act Funds Make Improvements Possible at
Hayfield Draw OHV Recreation Area

AZ, June 29, 2010 - Prescott National Forest officials are pleased to announce that the Hayfield Draw Off Highway Vehicle Recreation Area will get a much needed renovation. Utilizing Recovery Act funding, improvements will include a new host site, installation of toilets, construction of a fee station, and visual improvements to the parking area. Hayfield Draw is one of two popular and heavily used developed OHV Recreation Areas on the forest and provides 80 acres of motorized trails for OHV enthusiast. Hayfield Draw will be closed beginning June 30 and is expected to re-open September 30, 2010. "We the improvements will enhance visitor enjoyment in the area and the three month down time will be worth the wait," stated Forest Supervisor Alan Quan. "We appreciate the patience of our recreation area users at this time," he added.
The Recovery Act directs the Forest Service to improve, maintain and renovate public and administrative facilities. Funds provided by the Recovery Act will for used for roads and trails maintenance and decommissioning, recreation facility improvements, watershed restoration, abandon mine cleanup, and hazardous fuel treatments.
