Advance reservations may be made for the Sacramento Ranger District Group Area campsites.  All reservations can be made at www.recreation.gov or call their toll-free number (877) 444-6777. Other campsites on the Lincoln National Forest are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

DISPERSED CAMPSITES

Motorized access to dispersed campsites is allowed within 300 feet from the center line of an open road on US Forest Service lands not within a Wilderness Area.

Bluff Springs  This popular dispersed area has a small waterfall, with springs located 200 yards above.  Access to T113 (Willie White) can be found here.   Restrooms available       RV camping   Tent camping available   Tent camping available     Photo of camp site
Bailey Canyon  Spread out along FR206, this area has many undeveloped camping and/or picnic sites.             RV camping   Tent camping available

Sacramento River  The  Sacramento River Road (county road E12) has 2 paved areas accessing trailheads where camping is allowed.           RV camping   Tent camping available          
Hornbuckle Hill  Located at the south end of Westside Road (FR90) this  area offers spectacular views of the Tularosa Basin.           RV camping   Tent camping available

Wills Canyon  This is an ideal area for accessing motorized trails along the many old railroad grades that meander through the area.  There are numerous springs in the canyon as well as a live stream.             RV camping   Tent camping available       Vicinity map of the area
Karr Canyon  A few campsites are available on the upper parts of FR63.  Trash cans are available at the Lower Karr Picnic Area.             RV camping   Tent camping available        
Benson Ridge  Benson Ridge is especially popular during hunting season and wintertime for snowmobiling.  Many sites located throughout.           RV camping   Tent camping available       Vicinity map of the area  
Alamo Peak Road  Alamo Peak Road is a paved road located off Scenic By-Way NM6563.             RV camping   Tent camping available          
Westside Road  Offers a lower elevation (~7000') camping experience with numerous sites found along the road.           RV camping   Tent camping available          
Dry Canyon Good, open, temperate canyon for camping and target shooting.  Appropriate for 4WD or high clearance vehicles.           RV camping   Tent camping available          
Mill Ridge Mill Ridge is a good hang-gliding point on the District.  Landing zone is off the Forest in the desert.           RV camping   Tent camping available          
Forest Creek  A nice, flat, grassy area with some trees south of Mayhill in the Miller Flats area.  Lower elevation area.           RV camping   Tent camping available          
Bear Canyon & Dam  Tent camping available at Bear Canyon Dam.  It is NOT possible to take a trailer up to the dam area.  There are no turn arounds and no pull off areas           RV camping   Tent camping available

Hoosier Canyon  A wonder fall camping spot to see the colors of the trees.  Located off the Agua Chiquita road.           RV camping   Tent camping available          
Bear Slide  Ideal for more remote camping along Jim Lewis and Monument Canyons           RV camping   Tent camping available          
Barrel & Sand Springs  Located about 13 miles west of Sacramento along the Agua Chiquita Road.  Remote camping.            RV camping   Tent camping available          
Prestridge Hill / Hay Canyon  Interspesed around private lands, Hay Canyon Spring is a favorite spot in this area.           RV camping   Tent camping available          
Burnt Canyon  Located just east and north of Mayhill along FR607, there is enough room for 4 or 5 camper trailers.           RV camping   Tent camping available
