Types of Camping
Developed Camping - High level of development
Our highly developed campgrounds consist of both group and individual campgrounds and offer the most amenities available.  Amenities may include dump stations, water, restrooms, paved roads, picnic tables, fire rings, grills, and in the case of the group campgrounds covered shelters.

Developed Camping - Moderate level of development
Our moderately developed campgrounds offer a more rustic approach to camping and may include water, restrooms, well maintained dirt roads, picnic tables and fire rings or grills.

Dispersed ("Road-Side") Camping
Dispersed camping is defined as camping on public lands away from developed recreation facilities and offers a primitive camping experience.  Please remember to pack out what you pack in.  You may walk and pitch a tent anywhere on Lincoln National Forest lands.  You may drive to a road-side campsite no further than 300 feet from the center-line of an open road as long as you are on US Forest Service lands and are not within a Wilderness Area.
