Safford Ranger District Ranger - Kent Ellett

Kent Ellett has reported for duty as the District Ranger for the Safford Ranger District, Coronado National Forest, which is responsible for management of the Pinaleno, Santa Teresa, Galiuro and Winchester mountain ranges.
Ellett’s 19 year career with Federal land management agencies includes three years with the Bureau of Land Management and 14 years as a Rangeland Management Specialist with the USDA Forest Service in Arizona, Idaho, Nevada and Utah. For the past two years, Ellett has served as the Acting District Ranger on the Nogales Ranger District, Coronado National Forest.
Ellett graduated from Utah State University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Range Science.
Kent and his family have previously lived in the Gila Valley from 2002 to 2006 while he worked on the Clifton Ranger District of the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest.
"The Gila Valley is a great place to live and work,” said Ellett. “We are very happy to be able to return.” Ellett is optimistic regarding his new assignment, and shares his open door policy with all who are interested.
"My door is always open, so please feel free to come in and visit or call. I look forward to working with the local residents, Tribal members, governments and organizations.”
