Beaver Creek Campground

This campground is sheltered by a stand of cottonwoods and Arizona sycamores clustered on the banks of Wet Beaver Creek. Click image for larger view.excellent place to fish, hike, swim, wade, and bird watch, all within a few steps of your campsite. A trailhead within easy driving distance provides access to hiking trails into the Beaver Creek Wilderness. The road that leads to the campground is one of the Coconino National Forest's scenic drives. There is a free picnic area across FR 618 from the campground.

The area beyond the oasis nurtured by the stream is upper Sonoran Desert. Its characteristic rock gardens of prickly pear cactus and banana yucca provide a sharp contrast to the lush riparian zone along the creek. Wet Beaver Campground is located just three miles of paved road from I-17.

Location: 47 miles south of Flagstaff a few miles off the interstate .Elevation is 3,800 ft.

GPS Coord: N34° 40’ 12.504”, W-111° 42’ 47.268”

Access: Leave Interstate 17 at the AZ 179 exit (Exit #298) and drive 3 miles south on FR 618 to the campground.

Season: All year.

Attractions: Camping/picnicking, Swimming/wading, Fishing, Hiking, Sightseeing, and Wildlife watching

Facilities: 13 single unit sites, Tables, fire rings and cooking grills, Drinking water, Free picnic area across the road, Toilets (pit type)

Fee: $16 per night, $8 second vehicle. (Holders of Golden Age or Golden Access, America-the-Beautiful Senior or America-the-Beautiful Access passes may receive a 50% discount for overnight camping.) Campground available for picnic/day use from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $8.00. Firewood is available for sale in all our campgrounds by our hosts for $7.00 ea.

Notes:
Tents, motor homes and trailers under 22' are permitted
No utility hookups.
Pets must always be restrained or on a leash.
No horses allowed in the campground.
Motorbikes may only be used for entering or leaving campsite.
7 day stay limit.
