Comments
During 2006 and 2007 the Carson National Forest hosted several public meetings and open houses to collect ideas about motorized travel management across the forest. The comments and suggestions received where used to develop proposed actions. The proposed actions and alternatives to the proposed actions were publically presented based on social-economic and geographical divisions of the Carson National Forest. The Jicarilla Ranger District, and the Westside (Canjilon, El Rito, and Tres Piedras Ranger Districts) have completed decisions based on the comments received from public participation. The Questa Ranger District has completed a preliminary environmental assessment, received comments and is nearing a decision. The Camino Real Ranger District is in the midst of using the comments received to prepare a preliminary environmental assessment for public review with an anticipated date of December 2011. Public comments received during each round of meetings and open houses have been summarized and are available for viewing by [clicking this link.pdf file]. Comments received outside the public meetings are available on the websites noted above. Maps and other information are also available on this website. Please refer to the Public Participation and Maps links under the Table of Contents.
We appreciate your participation thus far and look forward to hearing your feedback as this project continues.
