Permit Information

Christmas Tree Permits

Dead and Down Permits

Harvest time for dead and down firewood is May - December. Permits are not sold from January - April. Dead and Down wood permits cost $20.00 for five cords or $40.00 for ten cords, and there is a ten cord limit per household per year. These permits are valid from May 1, through December 31, forest wide.    You must be at least 18 years of age and show valid picture identification when purchasing your permit,  and the person buying the permit must be the one harvesting and hauling the fuelwood. Permits are available at every district office from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Latilla permits - Minimum is 80 latillas for $20.00. $0.25 each latilla. (Limit 300 Aspen/1200 Spruce)

Viga Permit - 100 Linear Feet Minimum. (Limit $300.00 per Household). $20.00 minimum

Wildling Permit - $5.00 up to 5' each tree, any species. (Limit 14 per Household). $20.00 minimum. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the only days you can dig wildlings on the Camino Real Ranger Disticrt.


Chainsaw use can be restricted at times during the summer due to fire hazard.
