Alpine Divide Campground

Access:

Drive 4 miles north of Alpine on paved US Highway 191

Elevation:

8480 feet above sea level

Season:

Mid-May to mid-September

Facilities:

  • 12 single unit sites
  • Tents and trailers up to 12 foot
  • Tables, fire rings and cooking grills
  • Vault toilets
  • Trash dumpsters in season
  • Campground host

Features and Setting:

Alpine Divide Campground is tucked away in a picturesque setting at the foot of Escudilla Mountain in a cool, quiet grove of ponderosa pines. Its convenient location makes it a good base for travel throughout the area. From here, it's a manageable trip to just about anywhere in the district.

When you come back to your campsite, you'll have a pleasant setting in which to enjoy camping, picnicking, hiking, sight-seeing, wildlife viewing and bird watching.

Notes:

  • Utility hookups are not available
  • Gas, groceries, restaurants and equipment rental available in Alpine
  • Pets must be restrained or on a leash
