Ferris Canyon Campground

 

 


Location

Directions from Dolores, Colorado: Travel 37 miles northwest to campground on following roads: Highway 184, U.S. Highway 666 and County Roads 505 and 504.

Facilities

Ferris Canyon Campground, at Lone Dome, is 3 miles from Cabin Canyon Campground along Forest Rd. 504, has 7 sites (all barrier-free), hand pumps for water, and 6 picnic areas. It is northwest of McPhee Reservoir.

No showers, electricity, or firewood. Dump is nearby.

Attractions & Considerations

This campground is 3.5 miles downstream of the dam and popular with fly fishermen. Fishing is catch-and-release.

Historic Lone Dome Ranger Station is nearby and is a landmark and interpretation of the first ranger station which was built on the old Montezuma National Forest around 1912.
