The San Juan National Forest (Forest Service) and the San Juan
Field Office (Bureau of Land Management) are pioneering a concept
known as Service First. Service First is a partnership strategy
to provide better customer service and be more cost effective in
the delivery of that service to users of the public land in southwest
Colorado.
The San Juan Public Lands Center is the only organization in the
country providing leadership in all aspects of land management for
the two agencies as one unit. Shared FS/BLM offices in Pagosa Springs,
Durango, and Dolores oversee the three San Juan National Forest
Ranger Districts, BLM Field Offices, and Canyons of the Ancients
National Monument.
