Hiking IconHorseback riding iconThe trail is well maintained and heavily used by foot and horse traffic. It functions mainly as an access route into Sand Creek from the east side of the Sangre de Cristo Range.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Access:

ACCESS #1: Via Sand Creek Trail #743.

ACCESS #2: A jeep road to Music Pass allows access from San Isabel NF. A 2WD vehicle can get within 3 miles of the pass. A 4WD can go another 1-½ miles. The trail is closed to motorized traffic.

Attractions & Considerations:

The trail is well maintained and heavily used by foot and horse traffic. It functions mainly as an access route into Sand Creek from the east side of the Sangre de Cristo Range. It is especially scenic at the top of Music Pass, allowing views of the Wet Mountains to the east and Sand Creek to the west.
